The 2024 Award Ceremony will be taking place on the 21st of November 2024 and will be both ran in the Royal Concert Hall for participants and their allocated number of guests and also recorded for people to watch at a later date from the comfort of their own home.
Attendees may arrive from 1730. VIPS should go to the VIP Helpdesk. Participants, Leaders and Guests will already have there tickets from the Leader Pick Up Event. Seating will be from 1800 and the event itself will start sharply at 1830-2030.

Invitation Eligibility
All participants MUST have completed their full award on eDofE by the 31st of October 2024 at 5pm in order to be included in the night. We ask that all participants that have completed their sections in practical terms be submitted for approval on eDofE as soon as they have completed them instead of waiting for the end of the deadline, this will allow us to better allocate guest seating. Participant’s achieving Bronze and Silver will be welcomed onto the stage within their Centre names for celebration. All Gold Participants will be asked to the stage together.
Ticket Pick Up
Tickets for participants, leaders and guests will be available for pick up on the 14th of November 2024 from 1530-1800 please book onto this event here for expected numbers. Please note tickets must be given out to participants ahead of the awards night and not handed out at the venue. Centre Coordinators must notify the DofE Manager of guest tickets required for each young person by the 7th of November. It is originally assumed that young people will be able to invite 1 guest, it is only with centre coordinator communication on guest tickets that we can issue further tickets out.
Montage Photo Reel
There will be a montage reel shown during the awards night, can all centres supply photos for the award ceremony here (if it states you do not have permission please email the DofE Manager to be added) Please ensure that you save your photos directly into this file creating no other folders and naming your photos with your centre name and then successive numbers. Photos can be submitted at anytime up until the 31st of October 2024
WE NEED YOUNG PEOPLE TO MAKE OUR SHOW HAPPEN!
There is also an opportunity for any centre to put forward acts for the evening; the types of acts we are looking for this year are Hosts, Solo Musicians, Singing Groups, Cheerleading Acts, Gymnast Acts, Dance Acts (apologies no music bands due to logistics) and talks about award experiences which are up to four minutes in length. This is a fantastic opportunity to show off an activity that you have been taking part in for one of the sections. The acts should have young people in them that are undertaking their DofE Award.
This should be submitted to the DofE Manager by the 15th of June 2024.

The Inspiration Awards recognise examples of excellence or contribution that demonstrates the core ethos of the DofE award from both participants and leaders; celebrating the commitment by leaders and innovative work going on in Glasgow.
Each centre MUST nominate a minimum of one category. The 4 nominated categories for the DofE Glasgow Inspirational Awards are;
Most Innovation in Skill, Physical or Volunteering Section of the Year
This award can be presented to either a team or an individual to capture unique pieces of work as part of the Volunteering, Skill or the Physical section. Nominations in this category should be a creative or unusual DofE programme.
This award should be nominated by a Community Groups, DofE Assessor, DofE Coordinator, DofE Leader or Head Teacher.
Most Creative Expedition Project/Presentation
A team award for an interesting or exciting expedition presentation or project. Nominations in this category could include an unusual project topic, a funny or interesting experience or the media used.
This award should be nominated by a DofE Coordinator, DofE Leader, DofE Expedition Assessor or another member of the Expedition Team.
DofE Leader /Volunteer of the Year
This award is to celebrate the great work undertaken by a DofE Co-ordinator, leader/volunteer that has gone the extra mile to support participants with their DofE programme.
This award can be nominated by DofE Participants, Parents, DofE Coordinators, DofE Leaders, Head Teachers or a Colleague.
DofE Centre of the Year
This award is to pay tribute to an individual centre that supports participants in achieving their award. This centre will be selected by Glasgow DofE and will take into consideration; achievement rate, partnership working, independence and sustainability and award levels offered.
The nominations panel will be made up of representatives from Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Life and Duke of Edinburgh.
Winners will be announced at the award presentation in November.
Nominations should be submitted to dofe@glasgow.gov.uk the by the 15th of September 2024 using the below nomination form. Each centre should have at least one nomination.
